The best seasons for Ruby Valley Trek:
The best times for Ruby Valley are spring and autumn/fall seasons. Spring begins from March to May, and autumn from September to November.
Springtime with longer sunny days, is the best season for treks around the Himalayas. But cold mornings, late afternoon and nighttime, can get snowfall sometimes. During spring from March to May, the whole valley and hills will be ablaze with wildflowers in full bloom. Especially the rhododendron of various species and colors from tall trees to bush, as well the national flowers of Nepa. The next best time is autumn from September to November, most days are fine and clear. But shorter sunlight hours, much cold morning and late afternoon until nighttime. Can expect snowfall sometimes above 3,000 m high on walks and climbs.
Geographical Landscapes & Vegetation:
Nepal is a landlocked country with the world’s highest peaks and mountain range known as the Himalayas’. The country with five categories of landscapes from the lowlands of the Terai belt. Which extends from east to far west, then towards north starting with Siwalik / Churi Hills. Then stretches to the Mahabharata range of high mid-hills and continues towards higher hills and ridges, known as Greater Mahabharata. The landscape then ends with a massif of mountains, the Himalayas, or an evergreen snow range of peaks. The treks take you around the Central Himalayas towards Ganesh Himal and close to Manaslu Himalayan range.
The peaks of Ganesh Himal massif with Langtang Himal can be viewed from Kathmandu Valley also on a clear day. The Ruby Valley, is a perfect destination for stunning views Ganesh, Manaslu and Langtang Himal.
On treks to Ruby Valley, around the mid low hills with mixed species of vegetation with rain and alpine forest. Higher above 1,500 m, walking on forested path lined with rhododendrons, blue pines, and firs. Includes oaks, hemlocks, and magnolia with some bamboo grooves. Higher above 3,000 m the tree lines drop for short alpine bush of juniper and azalea. In spring time from March to May trekkers will be delighted walking through beautiful forests. The right time when rhododendrons are in flowering seasons. The whole valley and hills will be a paradise with spectacular wildflowers in bloom. The walk takes you from farm villages to complete mountain wilderness crossing the highest point Sing-La Pass.
Then enter the picturesque Ruby Valley with wide grassy meadows with chances of spotting some mountain wildlife. Around this remote and isolated areas where only few groups of trekkers and adventurers seldom ventures.
Religion, Cultures, and History:
Nepal with two major religions Hinduism and Buddhism, mostly populated by Hindus’ approx. 70 %. Includes Buddhism of 25 % the rest 5 % are other minor religions. But the higher hills and mountainous regions are inhabited by Buddhist followers. On this trek, will encounter villages stepped with Buddhist monuments and monasteries.
The Tamang are the main natives of Rasuwa and Dhading district within Langtang, and Ganesh Himal region of Ruby Valley. The Tamang are the mountain tribes of Central Himalaya, descendants from Inner Mongolia. Migrated around the high Himalayan mountainous region of Nepal through Tibet. Where heritage and cultures present are associated with the Tibetan predecessors. The history of the Tamang tribe dates back as early as 2nd to 3rd Centuries AD. One of the earliest mountain tribes to settle in Nepal and around the Kathmandu Valley rim high hills. When Kathmandu Valley then was submerged into a big lake before it was drained. The trek leads to villages adorned with Buddhist prayer walls and monuments of Stupa. The Tamang also practice the ancient Bon cult of pre-Buddhism, worship of nature and mountains. The Sing-La Hill top is the sacred spot of the Bon deity, where religious festivals held once a year.
Food & Accommodation on Ruby Valley Trekking:
Ruby Valley takes you around off the beaten trails, away from mainstream trekking routes. Due to its sheer wilderness encountering few rural farm villages en route. Overnights spots spending in tented camping, the Native Everest will provide full set of camping equipment. As required for this wonderful trekking, with spacious two-man tents, dining tent as size of a group. Includes separate unit of kitchen tent with expert cook and kitchen staff, along with guide and porters.
The food is cooked on a kerosene or gas stoves, providing set meals for all members. The healthy food from continental, Chinese, Indian, Nepali and Tibetan cuisine. The food menu varies every day from breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Sometimes on walks needs to carry packed lunch also, when there are no facilities of clean waters to cook fresh meals. The camp is always set on a nice grassy meadow with grand views of scenery. The lightening systems of Kerosene or Gas Lamps to light the dining tent, while enjoying dinner.

Ruby Valley Trekking is one of the most exceptional adventures quite different from other mainstream treks. The walk takes you to the hidden pockets of the Central Himalayas in between Langtang Himal and Ganesh Himal. The high Sing-La Pass forms the boundary of two districts, Nuwakott and Dhading areas.
