The best seasons for Thorang Peak Trek & Climb:
The best times for the trek and climb of Thorang Peak are spring and autumn/fall seasons. Spring begins from March to May, and autumn from September to November. Springtime with longer sunny days, is the best season for treks and climb, as well as for stunning views of mountain range. But gets cold morning time and in the shade as well as the nighttime, can expect snowfall sometimes.
Autumn from September to November one of the best times for treks and climbs, most days are fine and clear. But shorter sunlight hours, much cold morning and late afternoon until nighttime. Can expect snowfall sometimes above 3,000 m high on walks and climbs.
Geographical Landscapes & Vegetation:
Nepal is a landlocked country with the world’s highest peaks and mountain range known as the Himalayas’. The country with five categories of landscapes from the lowlands of the Terai belt. Which extends from east to far west, then towards north starting with Siwalik / Churi Hills. Then stretches to the Mahabharata range of high mid-hills and continues towards higher hills and ridges, known as Greater Mahabharata.
The landscape then ends with a massif of mountains, the Himalayas, or an evergreen snow range of peaks. The treks and climbs take you around the Far North Mid-West Himalaya range of Manang and close to Mustang districts. The area around Thorang Peak is enclosed by an array of snow-capped peaks of Annapurna, Chulus, and Damodar Himal. The vegetation is of mixed with rain and alpine forest, the mid-hills covered in rhododendron, blue pines, and firs. Includes oaks, hemlocks, and magnolia with some bamboo grooves. Higher above 3,000 m the tree lines drop for short alpine bush of juniper and azalea.
Religion, Cultures and History:
Nepal with two major religions the Hinduism and Buddhism, mostly populated by the Hindu’ of approx. 70 %. Includes Buddhism of 25 % the rest 5 % are other minor religions. But the higher hills and mountainous region inhabited by the Buddhist followers. On this trek and climb to Thorang Peak, trekkers will come across villages stepped with Buddhist monuments and monasteries.
The Manang and Mustang native are the descendant from Tibet.
Where all heritage and cultures till present is associated and linked with the Tibetan predecessors. The history of Manang people settlement around Nepal Himalayas, dates back as early as 6th to 7th Centuries.

Thorang Peak is located on the high side of scenic Manang Valley close to the famous and popular Thorang-La Pass. Which forms the boundary between Manang and Mustang districts, the Thorang Peak stands majestically close to the Thorang-La Pass.
The grade of Thorang Peak is ‘PD’ which means “Per Difficult” used from the famous French / Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification. A straightforward climb with some technical sections to negotiate to reach the summit of Thorang Peak.

The real adventure starts on leaving the Manang Valley rim with a climb to the highest point of trekking. Reaching Thorang-La Pass, from here towards the base of Thorang Peak. After acclimatization and gaining much experience, then ready for the big haul, climbing to the summit of Thorang Peak.
From the top of Thorang Peak, enjoy the spectacular panorama of surrounding giant peaks. Includes views of Annapurna, Chulus, and Damodar Himal as far as the Dhaulagiri Himalayan range with some peaks of Mustang Himal.
After a great adventure climbing on top of Thorang Peak, cross over the pass with a long descend to Muktinath. A holy pilgrimage site for the Hindu followers, from here our walk ends on reaching Jomsom town.
