The best seasons for Bokta Peak Trek & Climb:
The best times for the trek and climb to Bokta Peak are spring and autumn/fall. Spring begins from March to May, and autumn from September to November. Springtime with longer sunny day, the best season for treks and climb, as well as for stunning views of mountain range. Cold morning time, and in the shade until nighttime, can expect snowfall sometimes.
Autumn begins from September to November is one of the best times for treks and climbs, when most days are fine and clear. But shorter sunlight hours, much cold morning and late afternoon until nighttime. Trekkers can expect snowfall sometimes above 3,000 m high on walks and climbs.
Geographical Landscapes, History & Vegetation:
Nepal a land-locked country with the world’s highest peaks and mountain range known as the Himalayas’. Have five categories of landscapes from the lowlands of the Terai belt. Which extends from east to far west, then towards northward, starts with Siwalik / Churi Hills. Extend to the Mahabharata range of high mid-hills and continues towards higher hills and ridges, known as Greater Mahabharata. The landscape then ends with a massif of mountains, the Himalayas, or an evergreen snow range of peaks. The treks and climbs to Bokta Peak takes you around Nepal Far North Eastern Himalaya range. Located around north-east around Kanchenjunga Himalayas. The Bokta Peak, is well hidden amidst an array of snow-capped peaks of massif Mt. Kanchenjunga range.
Which is also on route towards the Tibet / China border beyond Kanchenjunga Himal range, as well en route to both Kanchenjunga base camps.
The Bokta Peak is least unknown to many adventurers and trekkers.
The peaks are visible en route Kanchenjunga South Base Camp. Make this adventure to Bokta Peak climb more special. The peak was opened for climbing by the Nepalese Ministry of Tourism from 2002 onwards.
The vegetation around high areas of Taplejung and Kanchenjunga region, is filled with lovely forests of rhododendrons, blue pines, and firs.
Includes oaks, hemlocks, and magnolia. Above 3,000 m the tree lines drop for short alpine bush of juniper and azalea. The high country of green hills to sheer mountain wilderness of arid terrain landscapes. Religion, Cultures, and History:
Nepal with two major religions Hinduism and Buddhism, mostly populated by the Hindu’ of approx. 70 %. Includes Buddhism of 25 % the rest 5 % are other minor religions. But the higher hills and mountainous regions inhabited by the Buddhist followers. On this trek and climb of Bokta Peak, trekkers will come across villages stepped with Buddhist monuments and monasteries. The upper high region of Taplejung and Kanchenjunga areas populated by the highlanders. The Sherpa and the Bhotias of Tibetan origin, the heritage and cultures are linked with their Tibetan predecessors. The history of the Bhotias and Sherpa people migrated around Nepal Himalayas as early as the 6th to 7th Centuries.
As for the climb, the Bokta Peak, it was officially opened from 2002 onwards.
But many trekkers and mountaineers had climbed before it was allowed, on
April 1991. A Slovenian Expedition climbed Bokta peak as acclimatization, before the ascent of Mt. Kanchenjunga from its South Base Camp.

The Bokta Peak Trek & Climb takes you to remote corners of Nepal towards the Far Eastern Himalayas. The location of Bokta Peak, at a mere distance from the classic Southern Base Camp of Mt. Kanchenjunga at Ramche, Tseram.
Bokta Peak of various height’s, as listed on maps and by other well-known adventure companies. From 6,143 m to 6,114 m, this peak is under the list of NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association). The Bokta Peak at 6,114 m /20, 060 m, as listed with NMA, is situated around the high region of the Taplejung district. The adventure of more than three weeks, one can make the itinerary days shorter. Heading straight towards our final destination at Bokta Peak base camp.
Makes the adventure more interesting and exciting, we have set the programs a little longer and more enjoyable. Visiting first to Kanchenjunga North Base Camp at Pang-Pema and then walking towards Bokta Peak base camp.
It allows good exercise and acclimatization before the final ascent of Bokta Peak Summit. The climb of Bokta Peak grade is PD, which means Per Difficult, a straightforward climb to the summit. A few technical sections to negotiates, requires good climbing gear to make this climbs safe and successful.
The grade used comes from French and Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification Systems. The climb leads on ice and glaciers with rocky vertical walls to tackle, using main ropes. For safe ascent and descent from the summit to the top. One can enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Kanchenjunga South Eastern flank.
Includes glorious panorama of surrounding towering peaks with close views of Mt. Jannu, Khumbukarna with Dharma and Nupchu peaks.
After enjoying a marvelous adventure, the return journeys then heading back to Taplejung Town with an exciting drive to the lower warm areas of Bhadrapur.
