The best seasons for Everest Three Passes Trek:
The best times for Everest Three Passes Treks, are spring and autumn/fall seasons. Spring begins from March to May, and autumn from September to November.
Springtime with longer sunny days, is the best season for treks around the Himalayas. But cold mornings, late afternoons, and nighttime can expect snowfall sometimes. During spring from March to May, the whole valley and hills will be ablaze with wildflowers in full bloom. Especially the rhododendrons of various species and colors from tall trees to bush, as well the national flowers of Nepal.
The next best time is autumn from September to November, most days are fine and clear. But shorter sunlight hours, much cold morning and late afternoon until nighttime. Can expect snowfall sometimes above 3,000 m high on walks and climbs. During the winter season of December to February, most villages and lodges will be closed for the winter. All locals from high Khumbu Villages migrate to the lower region to escape the freezing winter cold.
Geographical Landscapes & Vegetation:
Nepal is a landlocked country with the world’s highest peaks and mountain range known as the Himalayas’. The country with five categories of landscapes from the lowlands of the Terai belt. Which extends from east to far west, then towards north starting with Siwalik / Churi Hills. Then stretches to the Mahabharata range of high mid-hills and continues towards higher hills and ridges, known as Greater Mahabharata.
The landscape ends with a massif of mountains, the Himalayas amidst, a range of snow peaks. The treks take you around the Far North Mid-East Himalayas around the high Khumbu valley with the backdrop of Mt. Everest.

The adventure leads from mid hills within mixed species of vegetation. From alpine woods lined with rhododendrons, blue pines, and firs. Includes oaks, hemlocks, and magnolia. Higher above 4,000 m the tree lines drop for short alpine bush of juniper and azalea. Then reaches the arctic zone of glaciers of ice, rocks, and snow within pure mountain wilderness.
In springtime from March to May trekkers, an exciting time when rhododendrons are in flowering seasons. The whole valley and hills will be a paradise with spectacular wildflowers in bloom. The walk takes you from farm villages towards dry, and windswept rough mountainous terrains, crossing high Khongma-La, Cho-La, and Renjo-La Pass. Include picturesque Gokyo Valley, located in between Cho-La and Renjo-La Pass with Nepal’s longest Ngozumpa glacier.
Religion, Cultures, and History:
Nepal of two major religions Hinduism and Buddhism, mostly populated by Hindus’ approx. 70 %. Includes Buddhism of 25 % the rest 5 % are other minor religions. But the higher hills and mountainous regions are inhabited by Buddhist followers. On this trek, will encounter villages stepped with Buddhist monuments and monasteries. The main natives around the high Khumbu areas of Everest are populated by the Sherpa.
The highlanders of Everest and Eastern Himalayas follow strong traditions of Tibetan heritage and cultures. The Sherpa are the descendants from Eastern Tibet, just across the border from upper Lungden near Renjo-La pass.
The name ‘Sher means East and Pa for people’ in Tibetan language. Similarly, Everest is called Chomolungma in the Sherpa language, in Nepal it is known as Sagarmatha. In both languages means ‘Great Mother’, the Khumbu region is within Sagarmatha National Park listed as a World Heritage Site.
The park is enriched with exotic flora and fauna with world-famous mountains like Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. On this wonderful adventure with opportunities to visit old monasteries of great cultural and religious.
Food & Accommodation on Everest Three Passes Trekking:

For the first part of the journey from Lukla to Namche Bazaar, lodges are the best, with large nice rooms. After Namche Bazaar and Tengboche, most lodge provides only common baths and toilets, where trekkers need to pay extra for hot showers. A few places, where lodges are very simple and basic on this trek at Chukung, Gorakshep, Dzongla, and Thaknag.
As well as Lungden after crossing the last Renjo-La Pass. The food menu is provided at every overnight lodge restaurant from Continental, Chinese, Indian, and Nepali, including Tibetan / Sherpa dishes. At Dzongla, Thaknag, and Lungden, food and accommodation of basic standards because of the harsh terrain.
Where trekkers seldom visit, it might get better shortly as the flow of visitors increases. At Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, and Dingboche, trekkers can enjoy a food menu of wide variation, including bakeries items.

Everest Three Pass Trekking is an adventure traversing from one scenic area to another picturesque valley. The most exciting high-altitude journey covers most of the beautiful areas of Khumbu and Everest region.
The walk leads from the main popular route of Everest base camp to off-the-beaten tracks. Head towards the hidden pockets to cross over the high passes of Khumbu valley. The first part of the adventure takes you on the scenic trail to Namche Bazaar and the beautiful location of Tengboche Monastery.
As the trek progresses after leaving the tall tree lines towards sheer mountain wilderness reach Dingboche and Chukung settlements. From Chukung, the true adventure begins to cross the first high Khongma-La pass, then on the main trail to Everest base camp.
After an enjoyable and fascinating experience at Everest base camp, with a climb up to Kalapathar rocky hill. The highest point of the adventure rewards the best and closest views of Mt. Everest with an array of giant peaks.
The adventure continues and then diverts from the main route to cross the second-high pass over Cho-La. Then reach the picturesque Gokyo valley of beautiful glacial lakes, and climb on top of Gokyo-Ri.
Enjoy the grandeur vistas of the world’s four highest peaks Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho-Oyu with a series of towering snow-capped peaks. Includes magnificent panorama of the whole Gokyo Valley and the lakes with Nepal’s longest Ngozumpa glacier.
Finally, the adventure leads towards the last, final Renjo-La pass to reach the western end of Khumbu Valley at Thame. After Thame an enjoyable walk to Namche Bazaar and then down to Lukla for the last overnight around Khumbu.
